Saint-Louis Hospital has entrusted the monitoring of its MEARY Centre to JRI
Part of the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), the MEARY Centre for Cell and Gene Therapy at Saint-Louis Hospital produces Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) to treat serious conditions: leukaemia, heart conditions and rare genetic disorders. Faced with the discontinuation of its existing monitoring solution, the centre rolled out the JRI-MySirius platform across 58 measurement points in May 2026.
Objective: To ensure the continuity of temperature monitoring and maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
A production environment classified as meeting critical requirements
Opened in 2018, the MEARY Centre has been authorised by the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ANSM) since January 2020. It manufactures, tests and releases clinical batches of MTI in a classified production environment that complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
In this context, temperature monitoring is not merely a regulatory formality. It directly affects the integrity of biological products and the validity of batches. An undetected deviation can jeopardise months of work and, above all, patient safety.
The equipment being monitored covers a very wide range of temperatures:
Fridges
Freezers -20°C / -80°C / -150°C
Drying ovens (temperature and CO₂)
Water baths
Nitrogen tanks
Why replace the existing monitoring solution?
The MEARY Centre was equipped with an Oceasoft solution based on the Cobalt range and the ThermoClient software. The solution had proven its worth. However, Oceasoft announced that it would be discontinuing sales of this range and ending support for the associated software.
In the face of this planned obsolescence, it was not an option to continue using a solution with no technical or regulatory future. The centre needed to find a replacement capable of supporting all its equipment, ensuring data continuity and meeting GMP requirements. It was in this context that JRI was selected.
How JRI ensured reliable temperature monitoring at the MEARY Centre
The MEARY Centre has enhanced its temperature monitoring by deploying a comprehensive JRI infrastructure across 58 measurement points between 11 and 25 May 2026. Nano SPY data loggers and LoRa SPY sensors are used to collect the data. The JRI-MySirius cloud platform centralises their management in real time, in accordance with GMP requirements and ANSM regulations.
The roll-out is based on two complementary technologies, chosen for their reliability in the most demanding hospital environments.
The long range of LoRa SPY sensors covers all areas of the centre, including the most challenging environments.
The result: no measurement point escapes monitoring, from nitrogen tanks to freezers at -150°C.
The system is linked to the JRI-MySirius platform, which is shared amongst several AP-HP hospitals. This shared approach facilitates the centralised management of the sensor network across the hospital group. The activated modules meet the centre’s operational and regulatory requirements:
Traceability, GMP compliance and operational responsiveness
The roll-out was completed in two weeks, without any interruption to the monitoring of critical equipment. In a GMP production facility, any gap in data traceability can jeopardise the release of a batch. This continuity was therefore non-negotiable.
The JRI-MySirius Characterisation module centralises the management of chamber qualifications. Maintenance operations are logged directly within the platform. This considerably simplifies the preparation for ANSM audits.
In terms of operational safety, MySirius Alert immediately notifies teams in the event of a temperature deviation. On-call staff can view and acknowledge alerts via the mobile app at any time. This minimises the risk of losing high-value-added organic products.
A project that forms part of a wider site migration
The MEARY Centre is not an isolated case. The pharmacy at Saint-Louis Hospital has already been migrated to JRI-MySirius. All the LoRa receivers have been installed on site. This existing network infrastructure facilitates the continued roll-out across other departments.
The aim is to gradually replace all remaining Oceasoft equipment still on site. Each new service that is migrated will be integrated into the same centralised platform. This will improve the consistency of the temperature monitoring system across the entire facility.
Ultimately, Saint-Louis Hospital will have a unified, centralised temperature monitoring system that complies with GMP requirements. A solution capable of evolving in line with the centre’s needs and the ANSM’s requirements.
