Transporting biological samples is a race against time, where every degree counts. For Biosite, a medical analysis laboratory based in the heart of Maine-et-Loire, this reality had become a constant challenge. Find out how adopting JRI’s MySirius Mobilité solution has transformed their operations, simplifying temperature management and strengthening traceability.

The context: Biosite, a key player in medical analysis at the centre of a complex network

Biosite is much more than just a laboratory. With 10 sites strategically located throughout the Maine-et-Loire region, the company provides essential regional coverage, combining direct patient reception with a sample collection service outsourced to private nurses. This complex logistical organisation, orchestrated around two technical platforms (one generalist in Angers, the other specialising in molecular biology in the surrounding area), requires perfect control of the conditions under which samples are transported.

The Challenge: Metrological Limits and Courier Commitment to Optimise

Before making the switch to JRI MySirius Mobilité, Biosite relied on a vehicle fleet monitoring solution, Mapping Contrôle. While this was an effective tool for managing vehicles, it left something to be desired in terms of metrology. “In terms of metrology, it was a bit flimsy. Data archiving wasn’t exactly straightforward”, admits Mr Lancelin, Logistics & Metrology Manager at Biosite.

In addition to these technical limitations, the laboratory was faced with a human challenge: how to get the couriers more involved in respecting the cold chain? “Temperature management is fairly vague for them. The idea was to switch to a cabin display so that they would take ownership and react more quickly”, explains Mr Lancelin.

The Solution: JRI MySirius Mobility, an Integrated Platform for Total Control

The answer to these challenges? The implementation of JRI’s MySirius Mobility solution, a comprehensive platform that has transformed temperature management at Biosite. In concrete terms, this has meant :

  • Equipping 6 vehicles with Nano SPY sensors, for precise, continuous temperature monitoring.
  • The installation of in-cab displays, enabling couriers to view transport conditions in real time.
  • Centralisation of all data on the MySirius platform, simplifying monitoring and archiving.

Key Benefits: Simplicity, Consolidation and Increased Control

What are the results after a few months’ use? For Mr Lancelin, the advantages are undeniable: “You can see the temperatures live in the cab, it consolidates the temperature surface on a single platform, so it simplifies my management.

The solution has simplified operations overall, given teams a better grasp of the issues at stake, and strengthened control over compliance with the cold chain. Although a few communication issues are still being resolved with JRI support, the positive impact of MySirius Mobility is already very real.

Testimonial figures :

Although it is not yet possible to precisely quantify the savings in terms of time or resources, Mr Lancelin insists that MySirius Mobility “makes his life much simpler”.

The future : Towards Continuous Optimisation with JRI

Although no further projects are planned in the short term, Biosite remains committed to a continuous improvement approach with JRI. The aim is to exploit the full potential of MySirius Mobility and guarantee the impeccable quality of medical analyses.
